Target Education

Lee Cary over at The American Thinker sets out the frightening scenario of how these "Progressives" under Obama could take over the education system. Let's see, banks...got one...car company? Got one. Healthcare system...working on it; energy system of the country...working on it; so why not education? And for the "anonymous" posters that think this is "paranoia" or who believe that the "sheeple don't know what's good for them," go get an education - the Germans thought Hitler was doing it for the "good of the people" too. It's just like cooking a lobster.

im all for obama taking over education. a national system, where there are no kansas school boards intentionally misleading generations of kids? a society that actually values intellectualism, synthesis, and analysis instead of bellicose yammering? yeah, that'd suck...

i know exactly why you dont like that idea... you want to run for the kansas school board. add prayer to classes. maybe teach that the world is flat for a few more centuries. and we will all just wait for jesus to come fix our problems. clever idea. nobody has tried (and failed) with that before, huh?

not a great plan thus far. america's graduation rate from HIGHSCHOOL is hovering around 70%. these 30% are people too dumb to work in fast food. they have literally no hope for a useful productive life. i would support a comprehensive education takeover before anything else the government has done. screw the banks, the cars companies, (and for that matter healthcare... mine is fine. just sucks to be other people). Nope. Spend all the time in the world changing the standards to require that people are capable of thinking and are given a solid base of factual data for life... let's get on it. This is one of those "this is how we fix the future" moments. you just dont understand that it needs to be fixed.

Your disdain for freedom is almost as large as your ignorance!

You continue to despise people of faith and of course care not to hear reasoned arguments. You are spot on about the lousy graduation rates, but look no further than the pathetic performance of your lousy teacher's unions for the cause...oh, you might also want to see what has happened to those rates since you people succeeded in stripping all value education out of the classroom.
