The Video SNL Refused to Run

Sad - SNL was more than happy to do hit pieces on Palin, but this one was left on the cutting room floor.

Silent Night - Mannheim Steam Roller

Love the Steamroller...Christmas brings out such creativity with high voltage!

One of the great cover-ups is the membership by folks in Congress to an organization called the "Democratic Socialists of America." The DSA is the largest socialist organization in the United States. "How many belong?" I hear you ask...well it's very hard to pin down an exact number, but by this count here, there are 56 members:

Rep Earl Hilliard
Rep Eni Faleomavaega
Rep Ed Pastor
Rep Lynn C Woolsey
Rep George Miller
Rep Nancy Pelosi
Rep Fortney "Pete" Stark
Rep Henry A. Waxman
Rep Xavier Becerra
Rep Julian C. Dixon
Rep Esteban Edward Torres
Rep Maxine Waters
Rep George E. Brown
Rep Bob Filner
Rep Diane DeGette
Rep Eleanor Holmes Norton
Rep Corrine Brown
Rep Carrie P. Meek
Rep Alcee L. Hastings
Rep Cynthia A. McKinney
Rep John Lewis
Rep Neil Abercrombie
Rep Patsy Mink
Rep Jesse Jackson
Rep Luis Gutierrez
Rep Danny Davis
Rep Lane Evans
Rep Julia Carson
Rep John Olver
Rep Jim McGovern
Rep Barney Frank
Rep John Tierney
Rep David Bonior
Rep Lynn N. Rivers
Rep John Conyers
Rep Bennie G. Thompson
Rep Melvin L. Watt
Rep Donald Payne
Rep Jerrold Nadler
Rep Major Owens
Rep Nydia M. Velazquez
Rep Charles Rangel
Rep Maurice Hinchey
Rep John LaFalce
Rep Marcy Kaptur
Rep Dennis Kucinich
Rep Louis Stokes
Rep Sherrod Brown
Rep Elizabeth Furse
Rep Peter A. DeFazio
Rep Chaka Fattah
Rep William Coyne
Rep Carlos A. Romero-Barcelo
Rep Robert C. Scott
Rep Bernard Sanders
Rep James A McDermott

Now the DSA no longer publishes the list - I guess they figured out it could be problematic for their comrades, err, members. But outside of Bernie Sanders, who has moved on to the Senate, and their blatant socialist behavior, who would have known that the "Who's Who" of committee memberships, let alone the Speakeress of the House, would be on the list! So what do DSA members espouse? Well, they have their seven pillars:

Dignified Work
Environmental Justice
Economic Redistribution
Democratic Participation
Community Empowerment
Global Non-Violence
Social Justice.

And who, you might ask is the DSA affiliated with? Why that would be the Socialist International. And what, I hear you ask in an increasingly exasperated tone, do THEY believe? Well, they are right out there in the all about it on their website. Well, if you don't want to spend the time, you can read the abridged version - it's called the "Obama website."

The drift continues, the current carrying us to the edge of the abyss.

Do not share this with the kids...

God bless her! If you are an American male, and the site of a good looking woman holding a fine piece of hardware like that doesn't excite you...there's something wrong with you!

This is wrong in so many ways...nude Blago painting

I'm guessing that the "artist" in this article is one of those guys that turns out to be a serial killer...they ask the neighbors and get the "geez, he was so quiet, raised orchids" response. Great, at least this displaces the nude Sarah Palin painting he did. I am sure both of these should hang in the MOMA.

We wish you a merry christmas

Che is an A%*hole!

Will the people that adore this schmuck, like Obama, watch this and maybe learn something! Oh yeah, right, that would mean actually listening.

More Christmas Music!

We lost a good one

Paul Weyrich passed away this morning and he will be missed. The founder of the Heritage Foundation, he was a guiding light in the conservative movement for the last twenty years. Paul was only 66, but suffered from complications due to a spinal cord injury 12 years ago. He is in a better place now.

How Much for your Women??

I know we are supposed to be accepting of all cultures in the name of "diversity," but really folks..."Man offers Daughter to Shoe-Tosser?" How about I trade you two good cattle for lovely daughter? It does remind me of the great restaurant scene in the Blues Brothers movie - "How much for your women? How much for the little girl??"

Blast from the Recent Past

Probably a poor choice of words in the headline, but just before the election on SNL there was this gem:

Now comes the real news: "US official: Russians intend to test Obama on arms" reads the headline. Read all about it here.

More from the Religion of Peace

Here's someone who is definitely NOT in the Christmas spirit. Anjem Choudary is his name, preachin' hate is his game:
In the sermon posted on an Islamic website, he said: "In the world today many Muslims, especially those residing in western countries, are exposed to the evil celebration Christmas. Many take part in the festival celebrations by having Christmas turkey dinners.Decorating the house, purchasing Christmas trees or having Christmas turkey meals are completely prohibited by Allah. Many still practise this corrupt celebration as a remembrance of the birth of Jesus. How can a Muslim possibly approve or participate in such a practice that bases itself on the notion Allah has an offspring? The very concept of Christmas contradicts and conflicts with the foundation of Islam. Every Muslim has a responsibility to protect his family from the misguidance of Christmas, because its observance will lead to hellfire. Protect your Paradise from being taken away – protect yourself and your family from Christmas."
Now here's what I don't get - the Koran recognizes Jesus as a "great prophet." Mary is revered in an almost awkward way...she even gets her own chapter, the Sura Maryam. It recognizes the Immaculate Conception and the special nature of Jesus - an infant that could speak.

No, this is about hate and isolation. The more these mullahs can keep their flock away from Christians and Jews in Western countries, the easier it is to convince them that those same Christians and Jews hate them. It is the pathway to jihad. Note to Anjem - if you hate our customs so much, go back to Saudi Arabia or Egypt or whatever dustbin you came from and leave us alone. Thank God this buffoon lives in England and not over here...Brits, wake up!

Trouble in Windy City

This guy had better be watching his 6 for reporting like this in the Windy City! There is a growing fear, I suspect, among this crowd that Blago could start saying some reaaaalllly crazy things. He's not going gently because a) he doesn't have to - he has leverage AND b) until he has a good deal, he will maintain that leverage. This is the same swamp that ALL of Obama's inner circle crawled out of...Barry O, pure as snow, the most brilliant man on the face of the planet who through hopeandchange will make the Polar Ice cap grow, had no ideeeeea this was going on. Just like he had no ideeeea that Rev Wright was a race-baiting America hating bigot. The logical end game for this is a) Barry O is stupid or b) Barry O knows a little won't go away.

At the root of this is the struggle for the heart and soul of the Democrat party which we scribed about back before the election. It is the battle between the Daley Machine united with the Kennedy Clan versus the Clinton "New" Path of Thuggery. The Obama appointments are nothing more than the Chicago way of trying to buy the silence out of potential enemies.

Detroit...even the football team stinks.

Kudos to Bob Corker from our fair state for standing up to the UAW thugs. Pity he wasn't tipped off that the deal was in the works over at the White House. Chrysler has already been bailed out three times - once by us - remember Iacocca and the K-car? Once by the Germans...they got rid of it for less than what they paid just to be done with the headache. And most recently by private capital - umm, that was right before the bottom fell out. Who's next? The US taxpayer...again. This is a failed business model and we need to let it die. Bankruptcy does not mean that everything gets shuttered and vines grow through the assembly probably DOES mean that union contracts will get re-worked. Let's get about it...the sooner the better!

Just in time for Christmas!

The Chicago Way

Rahm, Rahm, Rahm. Note to Barry O - when you throw a bunch of snakes in a bag, they start to bite each other. How are you going to parse this one? Good luck.

Bettie Page - RIP

Bettie Page died at the age of 85 yesterday. She was a Nashville girl. She attended Hume Fogg High School in downtown Nashville (now a nationally acclaimed magnet school) and the George Peabody College for Teachers (now the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University). She missed being the valedictorian by .25%.

Though she is being hailed as a revolutionary who helped usher in the "Free Love" nonsense of the 1960's, in reality, she was a tragic figure. She was married and divorced, pursued an acting career on the West Coast and then a modeling career on the East Coast. It was there that a photographer told her to comb her bangs forward to compensate for her high forehead and the "Bettie Page look" was born. When asked about her iconic status as a high priestess of sexual liberation, she responded:

"I was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer. I wasn’t trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time. I didn’t think of myself as liberated, and I don’t believe that I did anything important. I was just myself. I didn’t know any other way to be, or any other way to live."

She was a free spirit and a survivor. Later in life she became a born-again Christian. She said of herself that she was "penniless and infamous." For all the naughtiness, I suspect she was a good person and would be horrified at what is shown on the front covers of magazines and in prime-time TV now.

Despite the Playboy spreads and the Catwoman bondage shots, I like to remember her with this picture:

I am pretty sure that's the Gulf Coast of Florida in the background. The coast of my boyhood before they built the hell out of it. And that's a sandbar she's standing on...probably had been looking for sand dollars. She is full of life, happy to be here. That is how we should remember her.

Rezko, Blago, Obo...

Years ago I met a Federal prosecutor who worked on white collar crimes. We got into the subject of how they get these bad guys to talk. He explained that it was really pretty simple...put them in the lock up with a roommate or two for a couple of hours. Usually they were far more conversant after that. So Rezko is talking...that can't be good for Barry O. My guess is that Blago is going to squeal just so he can make his regular hair appointment. The dots are already connected to Rahm Emanuel and Jesse Jackson, Jr. Where else will this go? The box the press finds themselves in is that they now have to report on all the stuff that the VRWC (Vast Right Wing Conspiracy) was pointing out for months. Guess it's time to sit back and say "we told you so..."

The most terrible danger of a personality cult

This is a very interesting analysis - worth watching through to the end.

Obama - Building a Religion

Rumbler has been saying this phenom was about brand management and creating a fad or a it is to music.

Obama on Your Shoulder

Ahh, Liberals - they know better than you what you need!

Obama had Questionable Associations?

Hold the presses folks, the AP has a breaking story! Obama had "questionable associations" - we had no idea! This is a nice summary of some of the folks that we've been talking about for months...welcome aboard AP - it's called "news."

Wha..Illinois, Corruption in Politics?

Whoa, stop the presses! Corruption has been found in Illinois politics. I had no idea! I guess this guy won't be able to wear white at his wedding. Here's the big question - why has this entire machine not been investigated before now? Can you say "Daley?" Very good - knew you could.

So these two are going to run the car companies? This is criminal car-jacking on a scale not seen before. Since when does Nancy Pelosi understand the needs of the American consumer in their car selection process? When did Barney Fag..err Frank, become an expert in production capacity and distribution? This shibboleth that the American taxpayer is getting a great deal because "we're getting stock" in exchange for bail out loans is going to ruin this country! Great, so we are getting stock in companies that have failed business models...looked at the stock market lately? Guess what happens when you buy a goes down! It's the same concept as trying to grow food in a desert. Here's Sam Kinison's (RIP) take:

Not since Harry Truman nationalized the steel mills in 1952 (mercifully overturned by the Supreme Court) have we seen this kind of brazen takeover by government. It would be bad enough to have happen under Obama - but where the hell is Bush? Where, other than Bob Corker in the Senate, is the opposition. For God's sake man, grow a pair!

This little puppy is going to be available on DVD later this week...I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it already. It is an allegory of the war on terror with George Bush as Batman and the jihadis as the Joker. Even down to the scene of Batman standing on the wreckage of a bombed building it's phenomenal. It has the angst over whether to torture or's got even has the public turning against the hero and wanting to negotiate and appease the bad guy. Probably accidental on Hollywood's part, but make sure you see it and let me know.

"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain." -Harvey Dent

Grousing from the Left

There was an editorial in this morning's Tennessea - err, Pravda on the Cumberland, saying that the libs are getting concerned that Barry O is not appointing enough wingnuts to his cabinet. Here's a piece in Politico saying about the same thing. There seems to be particular ire about appointing Hillary to State - she voted FOR the war, and keeping Gates at Defense. One of the fun quotes was from Katrina Vanden Heuvel over at The Nation: "The appointment of Gates confirms in peoples' minds that Democrats can't run Defense. He could of at least appointed someone like Chuck Hagel, who opposed the war." Note to Katrina - Hagel is a Republican - admittedly in name only, but still has the (R) after his name!

My guess/hope is this: Barry, not unlike the last Dem to occupy the White House, (occupation of the White House - could be a theme there...) has no core principles. This is good news for those of us on the Right who thought that on the basis of his associations, the guy was damned near a Marxist. You sit in a couple of those threat briefings and it'll make those campaign promises go right out the door. B.O. probably feels like the terrier that caught the bus right now...he needs adult leadership around him.

You are kidding me, aren't you??

This fine pen sketch is of one John Thain. John is the Chairman of Merrill Lynch. Merrill Lynch lost $11.7 BILLION this year. Merrill Lynch is about to disappear into the Bank of America...probably to a place like this:

John thinks he deserves a bonus. John thinks he deserves a bonus of $10 MILLION. John is an assclown. Read more here.

Here's the 1st Grade reader's edition:

See John run.
John runs Merrill Lynch.
Merrill Lynch runs into the ground.
John tells his Mommy he did a good job.

Where is the shame?

No December 7th passes that members and veterans of the United States Navy do not pause and reflect on what happened that Sunday morning in Pearl Harbor in 1941. We think about our shipmates that went down that day...the boys at Hickam Field. The oil spilling into the harbor as those great warships bled to death. Our country has several seminal events of outrage - Pearl Harbor and September 11 probably the two greatest. As a Texan by birth, the Alamo is top of mind too. We have always rallied and done great things as a people. Usually those involved freeing others of the oppression that drove them to make us a target. Japan and Germany were transformed from maniacally tyrannical states into engines of world progress. The jury is still way out on Iraq...further out on Afghanistan, but at a minimum a new way is in front of them.

For a great perspective on this horrific day, check out Eyewitness to History.

Army Navy 2008 Trashed Annapolis

Ahh, Army - resorting to childish pranks again. The difference is that Navy would have delivered the goods on target! Well, 34-0, seven in a row. Go Navy!

China's Quest for the Moon

China Launches First Willing Manned Mission Into Space

Truly inspirational!

Plaxico Burress On Gun Safety

LMAO! This should also serve as a sound endorsement for the Smith & Wesson 9MM - totally lacks the herky-jerky trigger of the Glock.

Considering these numbers HAVE the latest election results in them, I would say this represents parity:

This is stunning.

Total Democratic Presidential Votes Since 1932: 745,407,082

Total Republican Presidential Votes Since 1932: 745,297,123

Total Third-Party Presidential Votes Since 1932: 66,061,486

How's that for parity? That's a difference of 109,959 votes out of over 1.5 billion cast.

Hat tip to Crossing Wall Street.

Odd Looks

The headline over at the Wall Street Journal reads "Automakers would accept oversight board..."

Here's the photo:
I mean look at these guys! This is embarrassing!! The guy on the left, probably some dillwad attorney trying to look in is Colonel Potter with a comb over - oh, that's Mr. Union Man, Gettelfinger...then comes Mulally from Ford who looks like someone just pulled a new puppy out to show him...then comes Nardelli from Chrysler who has the "Why am I here when I could have these clowns whacked" look...

I officially hate the bailout. To watch these guys with straight faces tell Congress that they will do anything that Congress wants them to do is like watching some junkies beg for methadone. It's downright unseemly. Mulally was right, one of either GM or Chrysler is going to fail and fail catastrophically. That's what happens in capitalism. Then Ford or the other survivor, or a foreign manufacturer buys the production capacity, the fat gets trimmed and off we go again. The alternative is the Democratic nationalization of auto production...this is what you will end up with:
That little beauty was built by the Soviets from 1940 something to 1980's the Zaz! Maybe Congressman Waxman will demand that the fuel efficient models have a sporty touch, so they can add a spoiler! Yessir, you are sir:

How about a convertible with extra safety bumpers and ADA step up ladder? You got it:

We have truly fallen down the rabbit hole. The free market is dying before our eyes and the same clowns that negotiated those great deals with the Unions and awarded themselves huge bonuses are now going to get to give monthly term papers to Congress. We're doomed.

More Explanations

There are thousands of reasons that my generation (the Baby Boomers) have turned out the way we have. But here are a couple of reasons:

This is a little creepy - why is the weird monkey dude putting the mechanical mouse in his pocket? "Stop it Corky! err, Kenny!" But you know if this kept us up on Christmas Eve, there was always the soothing sounds of the Gantvoort Twins! What's that? You don't remember the Gantvoort Twins?? Here's a refresher:
That's a smackin' good lookin' pair there! What is that device that is between them, a disco sawz-all?

If you were still a little disturbed that Kenny and Creepy were going to come crawling out of the closet while you waited on Rudolf and the boys, you could always put the Mom and Dads on for a spin:

I don't detect a single natural fiber on that crew! Gotta have a pair of patten leather white bucs to go with the powder blue leisure suit!

But if this is what messed us up, what does the following bode for Generation X:

Who is William Hung you's a refresher:

Lord, help us!

NASA Simulator Prepares Astronauts For Rigors Of An Interview With Larry King

Lost Tool Bag Filmed In Earth Orbit

Hitch on Mumbai

Christopher Hitchens is a liberal with a brain that I respect a lot. This is his piece on solidarity with India and it is very well crafted:

An impressive thing about India is the way in which it has almost as many Muslim citizens, who live with greater prospects of peace and prosperity, as does Pakistan. This comity and integration is one of the many targets of the suicide killers, and it is another reason why firm, warm solidarity with India is the most pressing need of the present hour.

Give it a read, you won't regret it.

We're a little partial to Fred Thompson in these parts, but this is beautiful!

This is a terrific editorial from Investor's Business Daily, titled "The Spread of Nihilism's Bloody Stain." There is a confusion in the West over the so-called "clash of cultures." This is not a cultural war as much as a temporal one. One side, Islamic Fascism, wants to return the world to a 12th Century model. The other side, the West, thinks that we will offend them if we are not more inclusive and stresses the importance of diversity. Balderdash! This is war people, wake up. If you need more evidence - as if the events of the last ten years are not enough, click here and watch this short movie. If that is not enough, click here, and watch some more.

Cartoon Characters for Cigarettes

Not really on point, but don't you miss those days when you could get cartoon characters to hawk smokes?

Moveon on the Upper West Side

...these are the idiots that won the election? No wonder Barry O is staying away from them in his cabinet selections.

Is it just me?

Is it just me, or is this headline strange: "Obama Promotes Fiscal Restraint, Big Spending." I guess we are all supply-side Keynesians now?

Christmas In The Trenches

I've always loved this we begin Advent, let us not forget.
