Friday Feed Bag

It's hot enough out right now to almost make you believe in the Global Warmings...scary to think that Al Gore dreamed the damned thing up about a mile and a half from where your humble scribbler sits.  But, let's not get carried away - how about some good circumstantial evidence that this business is a giant hoax that will make the Piltdown Man seem downright reasonable: "Don't Look Behind The Green Curtain."

Speaking of the heat - ever wonder about the history of air conditioning?  Rumbledad spoke much wisdom many years ago when he mused that "air conditioning ruined the Republic."  Chain of thought was that the Founders had positioned Washington DC in a swamp on purpose - no one would a) want to stay there very long and b) ever want to make a career out of it.  Air conditioning made DC inhabitable.  But I digress - the good folks over at the Mises Institute have a nice scribble on government and air conditioning: "The Heat Is On."

Obama claims this is another "bump" on the road to recovery...or is it "Summer of Recovery Part Deaux?"  They were forecasting 148,000+...we need close to 280,000 just to stay even: "Employment Growth Slows Sharply in May."

And another bump: "Housing Market Will Weigh On US Economy For Years."

And another: "US Manufacturing Growth Slowest Since September 2009."

The stock market is tumbling and on it goes - Obama's economic team has got to feel like a Christian Scientist with appendicitis. But at the end of the day, it's the policy stupid:

Thoughtful piece on whither Europe: "The Roots of Europe's Cultural Masochism."  Don't think it couldn't happen here...we elected an administration full of people that don't believe in American exceptionalism.  They actually believe that "diversity" and "cultural neutrality" built this great nation - with a side-dish belief that all cultures are equal, and if they are not equal - theirs is better because we are corrupt, awful, greedy, etc.  They suffer because of us.  No their condition would be even worse if it were not for us.

Friday fun video:

That's it.

Rumble on!
