A Chilling Effect on U.S. Counterterrorism

You need to read this analysis on this link: STRATFOR

Now, if you think that this is bad, just wait till BHO and his merry band of America haters start releasing photos of U.S. Military personnel...that we were PROSECUTING!

We are methodically destroying the capacity of our nation to wage war against an enemy that doesn't give a flying c&%p about Obama's popularity ratings. They want us dead people...converting to their sick "religion" would mean we get a cut on the virgins. Dead, much better.

Mmmmm... makes one pine for a world completely without the incredibly nonsensical ramblings brought to us by.... religion. how great would that be. just rational secular humanism all around... mmmm...

your link goes to... nowhere. and i am aware that in your conspiracy-addled brain you will be unable to process this, but it must be said: talking to people is not a bad thing. and if you think that their religion is stupid/archaic/backwards/berefit of value... you would be right, but i bet you are possessed of a blind spot when it comes to your own religious beliefs being just as arcaic and just as meaningless.

if you profess to love america, we MUST prosecute those who do not live by the ethical code underlying americas core principles of freedom and such. torutre is nsomehow not high on the list of approved actions if you want to pretend that america is stiull somehow that special 'city on a hill'. cant have it both ways there guy.

Your ravings against religion are sad. There is an enormous distinction to be made between a "religion" that vows to kill you if you do not convert, and one that brings light into the world.

I have fixed the link now, so please read the facts. Water boarding is NOT torture - I can tell you from first hand experience. Further, actionable intelligence WAS gained. Further, the good of the many does outweigh the good of the few - if it stops a terrorist attack upon my "city on the hill," where thousands of innocents would die...remember, red is positive, black is negative...light 'em up. There is nothing in the Constitution, a document you are sadly uneducated about that says we have to commit suicide.

hilarious. you are aware that we executed japanese in WWII for tortutring people with waterboarding, right? and that seems to be about your generation, so the fact that you forgot is comically unforgivable. we call it torture and execute people a few decades ago, but now sean hannity says it isnt torture, so we'll go with that?

Epic fail. You really will say anything at all to shape factual reality into your narrow worldview. sad... but the good news is you are down to 30% of the population, and if O has his way (and he will... gotta love defectors jumping from the sinking ship making that bulletproof 60 votes happen ;-) that # will only keep getting smaller.... hoo-ray.

Post your glen-beck-style rantings all you like, but your day in the sun has come and gone, and soon the GOP will be relegated to museums where they belong.

A question for you: how has world opinion been going lately? domestic opinion? the faces of the average person on the street? O seems to have repaired every bridge W burned, and in only 100 days... and no attacks on his watch... and we no longer torture people... and the green future looks brighter than ever before... the economy has bottomed out, the DOW is headed back up, and durable goods orders are again climbing... yeah. things suck so far. i can see why you spend so much effort finding fault. an excellent use of your time. you work for the Kansas school board, by any chance?

Get your facts straight - water boarding was "among" the water tortures used by the Japanese that we executed their war criminals for - water ingestion was far more deadly.

Do me a favor and stop lumping me in with Beck and Hannity and the GOP. I am a conservative period. Otherwise we will simply have to start calling you a Kos Kook or a Huffp Huffer or whatever. BTW, you are aware that Fox beats all the cable news outlets combined aren't you?

As for your your overconfidence in the party make-ups, I don't care. Unlike you, my arguments are for the good of the country, not the party. You speak like the statist you are - party before country. I put the Constitution first - a document you care nothing about.

Finally your stats on popularity in the world and all that - gibberish. His 100 day ratings are basically tied with W, much lower than Reagan and Carter...slightly higher than Clinton. I would love to be around when the scales fall from your eyes and you finally come to realize that he is not the Messiah. World opinion is doing great too - mocked by Ortega and Chavez, laughed at by Ahmedinajad, humiliated by Kim Jong Il...made a fool of by the Brits, Germans and French...yeah, that's some track record!

you clearly got those stats from.... Faux News! It may have a larger audience than the other networks (they are called 'sheep' for a reason...) but saying something incorrect, and saying it loudly and often, does not make it fact. How 'bout this one: "67% of rank-and-file Catholics approve of Obama’s job performance" - that's from Gallup. or "The number who say the country is moving in the right direction is up ten points since Inauguration Day and up sixteen since the November election." (Rasmussen). Seriously... if you hear only what you want to hear and know only what you have heard...

additionally: at this point in his 1st term, W had not yet turned into the comic-book villian that he became in later years. compare O's approval now to W's at the end ... and you see those last 30% that DON'T approve of Obama are the same 30% that liked W at the end. The 'sheeple' who would love the Red-state candidate even if he ate a human baby on national TV.

Side note: guess who is going to lose still more influence! CONSERVATIVES! hooray... O gets to make his first (and clearly not last) Supreme Court nomination! Ahh, I love it when the universe conspires to make life better for everyone! (except you, i guess...you can keep playing doom and gloom all you like - im going to celebrate!)

its great isn't it... i don't need to convince you that you are backward/archaic/anachronistic/whatever, because you don't get a voice in public policy anymore!!! Hooray for the new liberal america!

more hilarious statistics: "If scary sights easily startle you, that might reveal that you’re politically conservative.
That’s the conclusion in a report published today in the journal Science about a study conducted by University of Nebraska-Lincoln political science professor John Hibbing.

The study indicates that people who are frightened by scary images and flinch at loud noises are likely to lean conservative and often favor increased spending for the military and support the death penalty and the Iraq war. …”

Is it true? dunno. But i read it someplace, so it MUST be, right?

Mr. A is just getting funny! Ahh, the thrill of victory...run around and gloat. Umm, wait, we are winning aren't we? Just in:

Obama's ratings slide: press conference down 29%

Obama44 Audience interest in Barack Obama’s news conferences seems to be falling, with Wednesday’s press event drawing the president’s smallest primetime audience since his inauguration.

The telecast to mark Obama’s 100th day in office was viewed by 28.8 million people, according to Nielsen. That's a 29% drop from the president's last press conference, on March 24, and a 42% fall since his first, on Feb. 9.

Ten networks carried the telecast, which is one less than last time since Fox elected to run its detective drama Lie to Me (7.8 million, 2.3 national adults 18-49 rating) instead. Airing its regular entertainment programming saved Fox ad dollars but didn’t help the show much. Lie pulled the same rating it did last week. Yet, like last week, it won the 8 p.m. hour.

Here's the president's last three primetime news events:

Feb: 9: 49.5 million
March 24: 40.4 million
April 29: 28.8 million

and that is relevant because....?

most of us count on the ability to READ (i know, i know, more of that liberal-elite behavior) the substantive, salient points of any Obama speech; watching on TV is so terribly passe...

however, the original post topic was actually relevant, and i notice that after i mentioned that we MUST prosecute those who approved torutre if we want to remain a moral example to the world instead of becoming some banal farce, you had nothing to refute the veracity of that statement.

So... you like poll numbers as long as they conform to your narrow worldview, are unable to justify torture (so you just say 'it wasnt torture' - a copout if ever there was one), and are left with... what? sour grapes and pointless ramblings. Find a new topic to complain about id you acare to, but this is played out. the conservative wing of america is going the way of the dodo... and rumblers like you are exactly the reason!

here you seems do enjoy stats; try this one:

http://abcnews.go.com/images/PollingUnit/1089a6HotButtonIssues.pdf

If a majority of americans do not support narrow religious doctrine decrying gay marriage, and want to legalize pot and tax it, and agree with all those 'scientist' types with their 'learning' and 'research' that we need to curb global pollution issues... what does that say about the future of your 'conservative' values here in america? gun control and border issues seem to be something we can all agree on (emore or less... never gonna make everyone happy) but there are so many other issues where your mindset is far outside the mainstream american's. are you ready to admit that you are a dying breed?

Marty Heflin said...

Why are liberals such slaves to polls? ONE poll and you are ready to chunk thousands of years of human wisdom and tradition over the side so gays can be married? If you want to legislate that gay couples can have inheritance rights, company benefits and all that, go ahead. But why change the definition of a sacrament to satisfy the loudest screaming horde at your door this week?

Legalize and tax marijuana? Fine. Where do you want to draw the line in your utopia? Acid? Meth? Can we not at least draw a line for public safety or is this just another part of the chaos you seek?

The rest of the poll was pretty lame - you have to look at the time the poll was taken, who was polled etc. But that's not what makes headlines. Nevertheless, this is all off point on what this post was about. To sum it up, your messiah, the great BHO, has made the United States a less safe place because of his infantile leftist policies.
