Aside from the humor though, I am getting a little sick of the "culture of science." The implication is that we lived in some kind of dark ages with no progress of any kind until the enlightened
one came to walk among us. Case in point, the current threat of a pandemic of Swine Flu is muted because of...err, dare I speak his name? George W. Bush. The Bush folks had a comprehensive plan put in place.
