A Pediment

So a pediment becomes an impediment to Barry O and his gang of non-Christian nationers. The image above is the pediment in Gaston Hall at Georgetown University, down the street from ye old White House. Normally, that little feller reads "IHS" - an ancient monogram for Jesus Christ. But I guess the good Jesuits of Georgetown are trying to wrest the "most politically correct Catholic institution" mantle from Notre Dame. Apparently, the "White House" asked that all images of Christ, Crucifixes, names etc. be expunged from the podium or any place where they might intrude on a Barry O camera angle:

Georgetown University says it covered over the monogram “IHS”–symbolizing the name of Jesus Christ—because it was inscribed on a pediment on the stage where President Obama spoke at the university on Tuesday and the White House had asked Georgetown to cover up all signs and symbols there.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the “IHS” monogram that had previously adorned the stage at Georgetown’s Gaston Hall was still covered up–when the pediment where it had appeared was photographed by CNSNews.com.

“In coordinating the logistical arrangements for yesterday’s event, Georgetown honored the White House staff’s request to cover all of the Georgetown University signage and symbols behind Gaston Hall stage,” Julie Green Bataille, associate vice president for communications at Georgetown, told CNSNews.com.

Come on Georgetown - "Hoya Saxa!" You too, Notre Dame, are you so dazzled by the light of "the one" that you are willing to stuff your principles in a box and sit on them?

As goofy as the Georgetown folks acted in this matter, what's the flippin' deal? Why is Barry so afraid to use the word "Jesus" in a speech? Why is he terrified of any symbology associated with the Christian faith? This is not to go down the "that's kuz he rally is a Muzzlim" route...but clearly he is so concerned with being "aChristian" (umm, think asexual) that you can only conclude it is for the benefit of the Muslim press. So there's a good formula - trample the history and institutions of your own country in the hopes of making symbolic gains among people that are sworn to hate us. Smart, Barry, really smart.
