“We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times.” —George Washington

The Video SNL Refused to Run
Sad - SNL was more than happy to do hit pieces on Palin, but this one was left on the cutting room floor.
Silent Night - Mannheim Steam Roller
Love the Steamroller...Christmas brings out such creativity with high voltage!

Now the DSA no longer publishes the list - I guess they figured out it could be problematic for their comrades, err, members. But outside of Bernie Sanders, who has moved on to the Senate, and their blatant socialist behavior, who would have known that the "Who's Who" of committee memberships, let alone the Speakeress of the House, would be on the list! So what do DSA members espouse? Well, they have their seven pillars:
Dignified Work
Environmental Justice
Economic Redistribution
Democratic Participation
Community Empowerment
Global Non-Violence
Social Justice.
And who, you might ask is the DSA affiliated with? Why that would be the Socialist International. And what, I hear you ask in an increasingly exasperated tone, do THEY believe? Well, they are right out there in the open...read all about it on their website. Well, if you don't want to spend the time, you can read the abridged version - it's called the "Obama website."

Paul Weyrich passed away this morning and he will be missed. The founder of the Heritage Foundation, he was a guiding light in the conservative movement for the last twenty years. Paul was only 66, but suffered from complications due to a spinal cord injury 12 years ago. He is in a better place now.

More from the Religion of Peace
In the sermon posted on an Islamic website, he said: "In the world today many Muslims, especially those residing in western countries, are exposed to the evil celebration Christmas. Many take part in the festival celebrations by having Christmas turkey dinners.Decorating the house, purchasing Christmas trees or having Christmas turkey meals are completely prohibited by Allah. Many still practise this corrupt celebration as a remembrance of the birth of Jesus. How can a Muslim possibly approve or participate in such a practice that bases itself on the notion Allah has an offspring? The very concept of Christmas contradicts and conflicts with the foundation of Islam. Every Muslim has a responsibility to protect his family from the misguidance of Christmas, because its observance will lead to hellfire. Protect your Paradise from being taken away – protect yourself and your family from Christmas."
No, this is about hate and isolation. The more these mullahs can keep their flock away from Christians and Jews in Western countries, the easier it is to convince them that those same Christians and Jews hate them. It is the pathway to jihad. Note to Anjem - if you hate our customs so much, go back to Saudi Arabia or Egypt or whatever dustbin you came from and leave us alone. Thank God this buffoon lives in England and not over here...Brits, wake up!

Trouble in Windy City
At the root of this is the struggle for the heart and soul of the Democrat party which we scribed about back before the election. It is the battle between the Daley Machine united with the Kennedy Clan versus the Clinton "New" Path of Thuggery. The Obama appointments are nothing more than the Chicago way of trying to buy the silence out of potential enemies.
Detroit...even the football team stinks.
Kudos to Bob Corker from our fair state for standing up to the UAW thugs. Pity he wasn't tipped off that the deal was in the works over at the White House. Chrysler has already been bailed out three times - once by us - remember Iacocca and the K-car? Once by the Germans...they got rid of it for less than what they paid just to be done with the headache. And most recently by private capital - umm, that was right before the bottom fell out. Who's next? The US taxpayer...again. This is a failed business model and we need to let it die. Bankruptcy does not mean that everything gets shuttered and vines grow through the assembly line...it probably DOES mean that union contracts will get re-worked. Let's get about it...the sooner the better!

The Chicago Way
Rahm, Rahm, Rahm. Note to Barry O - when you throw a bunch of snakes in a bag, they start to bite each other. How are you going to parse this one? Good luck.
Bettie Page - RIP
Though she is being hailed as a revolutionary who helped usher in the "Free Love" nonsense of the 1960's, in reality, she was a tragic figure. She was married and divorced, pursued an acting career on the West Coast and then a modeling career on the East Coast. It was there that a photographer told her to comb her bangs forward to compensate for her high forehead and the "Bettie Page look" was born. When asked about her iconic status as a high priestess of sexual liberation, she responded:
"I was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer. I wasn’t trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time. I didn’t think of myself as liberated, and I don’t believe that I did anything important. I was just myself. I didn’t know any other way to be, or any other way to live."
She was a free spirit and a survivor. Later in life she became a born-again Christian. She said of herself that she was "penniless and infamous." For all the naughtiness, I suspect she was a good person and would be horrified at what is shown on the front covers of magazines and in prime-time TV now.
Despite the Playboy spreads and the Catwoman bondage shots, I like to remember her with this picture:
I am pretty sure that's the Gulf Coast of Florida in the background. The coast of my boyhood before they built the hell out of it. And that's a sandbar she's standing on...probably had been looking for sand dollars. She is full of life, happy to be here. That is how we should remember her.

Wha..Illinois, Corruption in Politics?
Carjackers
Not since Harry Truman nationalized the steel mills in 1952 (mercifully overturned by the Supreme Court) have we seen this kind of brazen takeover by government. It would be bad enough to have happen under Obama - but where the hell is Bush? Where, other than Bob Corker in the Senate, is the opposition. For God's sake man, grow a pair!

BATMAN
This little puppy is going to be available on DVD later this week...I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it already. It is an allegory of the war on terror with George Bush as Batman and the jihadis as the Joker. Even down to the scene of Batman standing on the wreckage of a bombed building it's phenomenal. It has the angst over whether to torture or not...it's got rendition...it even has the public turning against the hero and wanting to negotiate and appease the bad guy. Probably accidental on Hollywood's part, but make sure you see it and let me know.
"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain." -Harvey Dent
Grousing from the Left
My guess/hope is this: Barry, not unlike the last Dem to occupy the White House, (occupation of the White House - could be a theme there...) has no core principles. This is good news for those of us on the Right who thought that on the basis of his associations, the guy was damned near a Marxist. You sit in a couple of those threat briefings and it'll make those campaign promises go right out the door. B.O. probably feels like the terrier that caught the bus right now...he needs adult leadership around him.
You are kidding me, aren't you??

Plaxico Burress On Gun Safety
LMAO! This should also serve as a sound endorsement for the Smith & Wesson 9MM - totally lacks the herky-jerky trigger of the Glock.
Parity
This is stunning.
Total Democratic Presidential Votes Since 1932: 745,407,082
Total Republican Presidential Votes Since 1932: 745,297,123
Total Third-Party Presidential Votes Since 1932: 66,061,486
How's that for parity? That's a difference of 109,959 votes out of over 1.5 billion cast.
Hat tip to Crossing Wall Street.

Odd Looks
Here's the photo:
I mean look at these guys! This is embarrassing!! The guy on the left, probably some dillwad attorney trying to look tough...next in is Colonel Potter with a comb over - oh, that's Mr. Union Man, Gettelfinger...then comes Mulally from Ford who looks like someone just pulled a new puppy out to show him...then comes Nardelli from Chrysler who has the "Why am I here when I could have these clowns whacked" look...
I officially hate the bailout. To watch these guys with straight faces tell Congress that they will do anything that Congress wants them to do is like watching some junkies beg for methadone. It's downright unseemly. Mulally was right, one of either GM or Chrysler is going to fail and fail catastrophically. That's what happens in capitalism. Then Ford or the other survivor, or a foreign manufacturer buys the production capacity, the fat gets trimmed and off we go again. The alternative is the Democratic nationalization of auto production...this is what you will end up with:
That little beauty was built by the Soviets from 1940 something to 1980 something...it's the Zaz! Maybe Congressman Waxman will demand that the fuel efficient models have a sporty touch, so they can add a spoiler! Yessir, yessir...here you are sir:
How about a convertible with extra safety bumpers and ADA step up ladder? You got it:
We have truly fallen down the rabbit hole. The free market is dying before our eyes and the same clowns that negotiated those great deals with the Unions and awarded themselves huge bonuses are now going to get to give monthly term papers to Congress. We're doomed.
More Explanations
This is a little creepy - why is the weird monkey dude putting the mechanical mouse in his pocket? "Stop it Corky! err, Kenny!" But you know if this kept us up on Christmas Eve, there was always the soothing sounds of the Gantvoort Twins! What's that? You don't remember the Gantvoort Twins?? Here's a refresher:
That's a smackin' good lookin' pair there! What is that device that is between them, a disco sawz-all?
If you were still a little disturbed that Kenny and Creepy were going to come crawling out of the closet while you waited on Rudolf and the boys, you could always put the Mom and Dads on for a spin:
I don't detect a single natural fiber on that crew! Gotta have a pair of patten leather white bucs to go with the powder blue leisure suit!
But if this is what messed us up, what does the following bode for Generation X:
Who is William Hung you say...here's a refresher:

Hitch on Mumbai
An impressive thing about India is the way in which it has almost as many Muslim citizens, who live with greater prospects of peace and prosperity, as does Pakistan. This comity and integration is one of the many targets of the suicide killers, and it is another reason why firm, warm solidarity with India is the most pressing need of the present hour.
Give it a read, you won't regret it.

Not really on point, but don't you miss those days when you could get cartoon characters to hawk smokes?
Moveon on the Upper West Side
...these are the idiots that won the election? No wonder Barry O is staying away from them in his cabinet selections.
