The Law of Unintended Consequences

When will the geniuses who got us into this mess learn that there are always unintended consequences when you set out to "do good." The latest installment of this phenomenon is the Fred/Fan bailout. So, if you are already behind you get help. If, however, you have struggled mightily to not get behind you get butkus. Soooo, you are incented to do what?

One greatly overlooked example of this phenom was during the election when Barry O's home state of Hawaii quickly abandoned the idea of state mandated universal healthcare for children. We learned the lesson several years ago in Tennessee. If you set the government up to provide the best possible health insurance at no cost, guess what? Everyone that can afford health insurance dumps their policy and takes the freebie. People are not "greedy," as Big O would suggest, they are just rational.
