In light of the recent attacks in Mumbai, time for another listen.
“We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times.” —George Washington

Religion of Peace
No that doesn't work...let's try again.
URGENT: A party of faith-enraged Buddhists swept through the downtown area of Islamabad today shooting randomly at late-afternoon commuters. They then set off explosives and captured numerous hostages at the posh Intercontinental Hotel. They singled out Muslims and Hindus screaming "Buddha is the man..."
No that doesn't work...let's try again.
You get the point. The entire world of faith had better wake up to the fact that Muslim extremists offer two choices: convert or die. And on option two, they are perfectly happy to accommodate. It is a sad day in India today. Rumbler has spent time in this beautiful country when Rumbler's parents lived in New Delhi. They are a wonderful people and we weep with them today as they bury their (and our) dead.
This is what the "religion of peace" did to the Mumbai train station:
This is what they did to the Taj Mahal Hotel where Rumbler's parents used to stay:
There can be no peace until Muslims worldwide condemn these acts of hatred and begin the long, hard work to change their religion from within. We of other faiths can help this process along if we would drop the pretext that they are really a peaceful religion and it's just a few bad apples...blah, blah, blah. Let's call it for what it is, a bloodthirsty cult that is destroying the very fabric of civilization in the hope of achieving a worldwide caliphate. The Koran is specific in what Muslims must do...let's stop kidding ourselves. Until Muslims renounce the violent teachings of their own book, we cannot live alongside them. They need to be isolated and eliminated if they will not change. When will the world say "enough?"

Woodward on Obama on Clinton
Being president is about control, and tell me who ever controlled Bill or Hillary Clinton. They can't control each other. ... I think it's because Warren Buffett and Paul Volcker and others have convinced Obama, 'You're going to have to focus like a laser on the economy. That's issue Number One. And give Hillary and Bill the world.' ... I think people are fantasizing or smoking something if they think Joe Biden's going to call Hillary Clinton up and say, 'This is what we want you to do.'
Merry Christmas...not.

Rumbler: Oh yes they will!
They have. Read about it here.
Well, the good news is it couldn't happen here...
Onlooker: Umm, it couldn't happen here...could it?
Rumbler: Oh yes it can!
They will try. Read about it here.

Why Land for Peace will not work
Sadly, the land for peace formula proposed by the Saudis appears to be the policy that Barry O wants to undertake - that'll bring about some change!
Auto Cos to the Troph
The Shrinking Possibility of Hope
Look folks - at some point we are going to have to face the $99.2 TRILLION shortfall in Social Security and Medicaid. We can't print our way out of it...I doubt we can grow our way out. The only hope is for an honest, sober assessment of the situation and a realistic plan to scale entitlements back. Otherwise we are doomed to the ash heap. Now would be a good time to do it too...the economy's in the tank, the news every day is bad...one good dose of cod-liver oil reality and let's get on with it!That Mr. Obama had been sent by history to assuage the insecurities of the middle class with a "New" New Deal was always a tad detached from reality anyway. The reason is those giant legacies of existing New Dealism known as Social Security and Medicare, about which he was careful to say nothing intelligible during the campaign. These programs worked for a while too, but now their expected revenues are (in present value) about $99.2 trillion short of the expected outlays required to assure present and future workers their promised comfort in retirement.
Then again, Mr. Obama did say something in his campaign about tax rebates for all these payroll taxpayers. He also said something about government matching contributions to incentivize today's low- and middle-income workers to save for their own retirement.
Voilà, personal accounts funded by payroll-tax givebacks -- strangely similar to the solution our current president promoted to help workers escape the impending insolvency of the government retirement programs. Mr. Obama envisioned himself extending FDR's work. He may end up finishing George Bush's.
But I thought they would love us...

How Obama Got Elected... Interviews With Obama Voters
OMG! Just OMG! We are hosed.
Here are the results of the Zogby poll:
512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
And yet.....
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
Folks this is very serious. The fate of the Republic depends upon a well informed populace. We got sold a brand...the new Coke! We will pay for it good and hard.
Politics of Division
And she's only 4'11" - but she is spot on. Enough with hyphenated Americans. We conservatives have to hone the message of economic liberty and social responsibility. Done correctly and packaged in the right medium, landslides await. From our bulging "The Hispanic vote doesn't frickin' matter, you idiots" file
I can't believe the National Review let this get posted:
According to the usual suspects, the benchmark in garnering Hispanic votes for Republicans is Bush's 40 percent showing in 2004. So what would have happened if McCain had matched Bush's performance, instead of the 31 percent he actually got? Based on CNN's exit polls, McCain still would have lost Nevada, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, not to mention, say, California and New Jersey. Conversely, even if Obama had won 90 percent of the Hispanic vote in Texas, instead of 63 percent, he still would have lost the state. With the possible exception of North Carolina, where the results were close but the number of Hispanic voters is too small to register in the exit poll, there doesn't seem to be a single state where the Hispanic vote was critical to the outcome.
Karl Rove & Co., insist that Mexican immigrants are social conservatives and therefore a natural fit with the Republican party. But blacks are social conservatives too, contrary to what this guy says, and they vote Democrat.
What's more: Mexicans have no knowledge of American history, and bring with them a culture of systemic corruption, crime, illiteracy, animal abuse, drunk driving and more. Please get back to me with the names of 10 Mexican Nobel Prize winners. All on top of not speaking English.

NOT EVIL JUST WRONG
I can't wait for this movie! About time someone had the courage to stand up to the crazies.
More on the Myths of the Depression
When is a Hate Crime not a Hate Crime?
Look folks, it's all wrong, dreadfully wrong. But let's call it evenly on both sides. If a gang of whites beats up a black man or a Latino - that's a hate crime. Ditto if the Crips murder a young white Marine (who happened to be married to a black woman). If gays are storming churches and desecrating sacred services, that's a hate crime. Ditto if someon takes a tire wrench to a cross-dresser. The reality is this - we don't need "hate crime legislation." What we need is sanity on the bench that punishes wrong doing for what it is, not because the victims have a different tone to their skin or don't have the same sexual preferences. Violence to another human being is hatred, unless it is justified in self defense. Period.

Open Letter to Barack
“1.) The reason why you won the presidency is not because the Americans suddenly found out that they should not be racist, it is because of the many mistakes that the Bush administration fell under which didn’t leave for the American citizen any room, not even for a second to think about keeping that administration and the least proof for this is the large numbers of votes against them.”
“2.) Your campaign promises were built on change and the time for it has come, and we say with that the time has come- the destruction that the previous administration caused for our country from killings, displacement, civil war and racism- has damaged your reputation as American people and it damaged elements of a nation that did not attack you by your own recognition andOK, they agree with Barry about change, they agree with Barry that American troops caused "killings, civil war racism etc." They agree with Barry that we are basically very bad because we invaded poor old innocent Iraq and that a hasty withdrawal will restore us to the lofty heights the Arab world has always held us in. Oh wait, they never have...oh, never mind. And of course, they agree that "reason and logic" would prevail - hit Barry O where he likes to be flattered!
therefore we ask for change and do not listen to those who tell you that a withdrawal from Iraq is a defeat. We say to you that a withdrawal will mean a triumph of reason and logic.”
“3.) The vast number of people who have voted for you means that you can take your actions with courage. The disarray of those before you hurt the American people before anyone else, Allah(SWT) has told us in his righteous book that he created man to get to know each other not for one to kill the other: ‘O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous
of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).’”
Barry probably knows these verses from his time in Indonesia, but let's see...man is not supposed to kill one another, we're supposed to all get along (does this apply to the Jews?) and Barry...party on dude, you got a mandate! Certified by Islamic Jihad!
“4.) We are a country known for its courage and generosity and our good treatment to strangers. Whoever is good to us we are good to him more than he is good to us, and whoever attacks us he will find from us no mercy, so what do you think we will do to an invader who tampered with our religion and our country, its destiny, security and unity?”
OK, so freeing you assclowns from a sadistic murderous bastard like Sadam, who was on track to get you all killed, wasn't good enough? But don't worry, you will have a sympathetic ear after 1/20/09!
“5.) To surround our countries security by making agreements with others around us to accomplish your interests and their interests at the expense of the interests of our people will have serious consequences. It is up to you not to try this and not to solve your problems with others at our expense and you should understand this.”Umm, Jihad Boy, Barry wants to talk to the animals, babes! You two are not going to see eye to eye on this, but so far, 4 out of 5 ain't bad.
“6.) We will be flexible in dealing with your withdrawal but it must not be as part of a security deal with parties that are traitors or a made up government. You must correct your mistakes and work with courage to pay compensation to all those who you have destroyed, their families or their house or their psychology. And you must release all those you have as prisoners until the last Iraqi of them, and you must order the sectarian government to release all its prisoners and to return the balance of security to Iraq. Without this we will not think that you will be coming with theDon't worry Barry, we've got your Six! Go ahead, withdraw, give us all our crazies back and we will take care of you. That awful sectarian government needs a few more things to do, Barry, so make sure you release the insane-violent ones first.
change that you have promised, and if you do this you will be written down in history as the courageous one.”
“And finally we in the resistance are staying on our promise to liberate our country and we will not tear from this, the history of our grandparents is the best witness and we will be the best next of kin to that kin in protecting the sanctity of our nation.”You kidders, you saved the best for last! You and Barry agree to get the only thing that's keeping you crazies from ruling the joint out of the way and THEN you get to go on with the insurgency so you can make Grandpa proud. What a great deal!
You know the weird part of this is how much of this letter sounds like the Democrat party campaign message on Iraq.

Catholic Bishops Part II
Roll with the Changes
- Now that Official Washington needs to take a breath from All-Obama-All-the-Time it has turned its attention to what will become of the Republican Party; or, more precisely who will be the New Face of the Republican Party?
- I don't know. Here's a couple of things I do know.
- Four years ago - a week after George W. Bush defeated John Kerry no one thought that Barack Obama was the New Face of the Democratic Party. If anyone was, it was Hillary Rodham Clinton's mug.
- How'd that work out?
- Here is the second thing I know. At noon on January 20, 2009 when President-elect Obama officially loses the hyphenated title, every Republican will understand how every Democrat felt exactly eight years earlier - to the second. That was when George W. Bush was sworn in for his first term joining a House of Representatives led by Speaker Dennis Hastert and a Senate led by Majority Leader Trent Lott.
- Republicans controlled everything. Democrats - especially overweight Hollywood actors - loudly announced they were leaving the country. It was the era of the PERMANENT REPUBLICAN MAJORITY!
- How'd that work out?
The Law of Unintended Consequences
One greatly overlooked example of this phenom was during the election when Barry O's home state of Hawaii quickly abandoned the idea of state mandated universal healthcare for children. We learned the lesson several years ago in Tennessee. If you set the government up to provide the best possible health insurance at no cost, guess what? Everyone that can afford health insurance dumps their policy and takes the freebie. People are not "greedy," as Big O would suggest, they are just rational.

It's Yucky...must say NO!
He's Baaack!!
Why if it isn't our old flag standin', Pentagon bombin', Barry pallin' friend Bill Ayers! Popped up on the grid on November 7:
There it is in a nutshell - no pun intended. The Alinsky tactics of organization - trying to turn the divergent wings of the Donk party into a single force:Maybe we could welcome our current situation—torn by another illegal war, as it was in the ’60s—as an opportunity to search for the new.
Perhaps we might think of ourselves not as passive consumers of politics but as fully mobilized political actors. Perhaps we might think of our various efforts now, as we did then, as more than a single campaign, but rather as our movement-in-the-making.
We might find hope in the growth of opposition to war and occupation worldwide. Or we might be inspired by the growing movements for reparations and prison abolition, or the rising immigrant rights movement and the stirrings of working people everywhere, or by gay and lesbian and transgender people courageously pressing for full recognition.
- "opposition to war and occupation." Mr. Ayers, this nation has only occupied countries for good cause - think Germany, Japan and now Iraq. There is a BIG difference between that type of occupation, which is temporary and what China has done to Tibet.
-"movements for reparations and prison abolition." I have posted about my concerns of a reparations movement coming with O standing by the tiller ("at the helm" doesn't work for him). I had not heard that we need to empty the prisons. Dangit, it's Sunday - I'll have to wait for tomorrow to get more ammo!
-"immigrants rights" Billy, we are a nation of immigrants - we would like to keep the process legal and not be overrun. But then, you obviously hate America and all it stands for so anything that leads to ruin is OK.
-"stirrings of working people everywhere." Comrade Bill! To the barricades!!
-"gay lesbian and transgender..." So only when we violate all our morals and gladly allow gay marriage, transgender and animal marriage will we finally achieve social nirvana?
This is why Barry O and the boys had to keep a wrap on this assklown till after the Election...but now, he's baaack!
You can read the whole article here, if you have the stomach for it. Titling his piece with a line from the Grateful Dead song, Truckin', really steams me too.
Corps
- Expand Corporation for National and Community Service: Obama and Biden will expand AmeriCorps from 75,000 slots today to 250,000 and they will focus this expansion on addressing the great challenges facing the nation. They will establish a Classroom Corps to help teachers and students, with a priority placed on underserved schools; a Health Corps to improve public health outreach; a Clean Energy Corps to conduct weatherization and renewable energy projects; a Veterans Corps to assist veterans at hospitals, nursing homes and homeless shelters; and a Homeland Security Corps to help communities plan, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
- Engage Retiring Americans in Service on a Large Scale: Older Americans have a wide range of skills and knowledge to contribute. Obama and Biden will expand and improve programs that connect individuals over the age of 55 to quality volunteer opportunities. (Barry - why no "corps" here?)
- Expand the Peace Corps: Obama and Biden will double the Peace Corps to 16,000 by 2011. They will work with the leaders of other countries to build an international network of overseas volunteers so that Americans work side-by-side with volunteers from other countries.

Let me understand this. General Motors is going to go bankrupt next year because it insists on building cars no one wants to buy and, to forestall that, it wants to buy Chrysler which builds cars homeless people don't even want to sleep in.

Election Day Thought
Quote from Henry Hyde, the late pro-life champion of the US Congress:
"When the time comes as it surely will, when we face that awesome moment, the final judgment, I've often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is a terrible moment of loneliness. You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God and a terror will rip through your soul like nothing you can imagine. But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there will be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement. They will say to God, "Spare him because he loved us," and God will look at you and say not, "Did you succeed?" but "Did you try?"'
As election day begins and, with it, the fast we have committed to, I want to thank you for whatever prayer and sacrifice you're able to offer today. God bless you!

This goes back to July, and like all things "O," they get said and then forgotten. When not asked by a responsible media - two mutually exclusive terms - they can be buried till after the election. This stuff is truly chilling...who will the Civilian Security Force report to? The Governors or Mayors? The Senators? The Royal Palace Guard? Obama Himself?
Scary stuff!

JOE - Continued
Director Helen Jones-Kelley said her agency checks people who are "thrust into the public spotlight," amid suggestions they may have come into money, to see if they owe support or are receiving undeserved public assistance.
Niekamp told The Dispatch she is unfamiliar with the practice of checking on the newly famous. "I've never done that before, I don't know of anybody in my office who does that and I don't remember anyone ever doing that," she said today.
Democrat Gov. Ted Strickland and Jones-Kelley, both supporters of Democrat Barack Obama, have denied political motives in checking on Wurzelbacher.
I have scribed on this subject over at Red State Rumblings, but this story continues to stink more and more.
Like Auntie like Nephew
One of the great revealers of character is how we treat those less fortunate than ourselves. Do we treat the grocery bagger with the respect and dignity he is due by saying "thank you" and calling them by their own name - or do we simply ignore them and try to look the other way? But your own family??? WTF??? There's no excuse.
