Sick and tired of being told how little U.S. companies pay in taxes? Yeah, me too. Wonder why they spend millions with accountants and tax attorneys to avoid paying taxes? Here's a chart from a recent report issued by KPMG that tells that tale (you can access the full report here):
Guess what happens when you have rates this high? Oh never mind, if you are reading this blog, you already know. Save this chart to throw in the face of a simplib...they hate "facts," it's like holy water on vampires.
“We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times.” —George Washington

Hurray! Cost of Government Day Has Arrived!!
According to the Center for Fiscal Accountability, August 12 is our new "Cost of Government Day!" How exciting!! That means that the average American has to work from January 1st till today to pay the cost of government...that's a full 24 days more than last year. But wait, it gets better! That means that the cost of government is currently consuming almost 62% of national income.
Hmm, if they get Cap and Trade passed AND Healthcare "Reform," will I have to work two years before I get any take home pay to pay for the government?
