“We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times.” —George Washington

That's right - the efficiency of the Post Office with the compassion of the IRS, Socialized Medicine, here we come! Nice little exchange on this subject:
Where's the "crisis" and what's the hurry? You want to take over 25% of the GDP and you don't even want to test it in selected areas to see what works? We already tried in Tennessee, it was called "TennCare" and it was a disaster. We tried to provide universal healthcare along the lines of what the Feds are proposing and it nearly bankrupted the state. The program vastly superseded the projections for enrollment with thousands of people opting out of employer programs to take the state freebie. In the end, the program was dismantled, benefits were slashed and a more reasonable system is now in place. Pay attention folks, because this could happen on a national scale.
